ABOUT EQUITEST®

WHAT IS EQUITEST®? EQUITEST® is a unique Equestrian website experience and brand. At the heart of it, EQUITEST® is a website that provides the opportunity to compete in dressage across all abilities as well as other equestrian competitions. All from the comfort of your own environment. We are passionate about connecting competition and training, developing your own knowledge, and transferring that knowledge to your riding. It has been created out of desire to provide inspiration, encouragement, and community. And is somewhere for everyone to achieve there ridden goals without the barriers of cost and location. EQUITEST® has been designed to help riders develop a holistic approach to their Dressage Riding, Training and Competitions. The aim is to help each rider development a harmonious partnership with their horse. To gain knowledge, confidence and self believe in your own ability and being able to monitor each stage of progression. It is full circle development of a rider and their horse; training at home, competing at your convenience, with linked up and accessible holistic coaching at your fingertips. Learning to be you at your best. Identifying what that means, discovering yourself so that you can develop in a way and timescale to be your best. EQUITEST® has been created by Claire Marie Senior, who has over 30 years experience in the Dressage industry as a Coach, Judge and International Rider, formerly representing GB several times at FEIYR Level until 2001. Currently British Dressage Accredited Coach UKCC Level 3 & BD Youth Coach & Assessor, BD List 2 Judge, Centre 10 Advanced Psychology Coach and selected for the BEF National Development Programme in 2019.
WHY IS EQUITEST® DIFFERENT? EQUITEST® gives you the opportunity to ride a dressage test from the comfort of your own arena which is judged by a BD judge. For even further development of your training, you also have the option to also receive professional coaching feedback and tips to help you improve. Being in that moment during a competition and receiving structured feedback and key pointers of what to work on and develop is crucial to your development as a rider. With EQUITEST® you will receive personalised, professional feedback on your riding when you compete which is then posted to you directly with your prizes if you are placed. There is then the opportunity for you to join the EQUITEST® CLUB which offers two types of membership. One for additional exclusive online access to training as well as a discount off your entries. Or our VIP membership where you sign up for our 12 month training and development programme.
WHAT DOES EQUITEST® OFFER RIDERS? With EQUITEST®, you can compete anytime, anywhere in the world from the comfort of your own yard. It offers the convenience of a modern and innovative platform for all riders to compete on. It is also ultra accessible for all horse and rider combinations. Everyone is welcome to compete and train with EQUITEST®. ​ It’s a place to learn, to grow and to reach goals. An opportunity for horse owners without transport or unable to travel to conventional equestrian events to be included. ​ EQUITEST® INSPIRES & ENCOURAGES so you can ACHIEVE and includes all riders, horses & ponies of multiple levels and stages of training.
WHO IS EQUITEST® FOR? EQUITEST® is for everyone who can ride! If you have your own horse or horses, borrow one or ride at a riding school, everyone who has access to an arena space or marked area can compete and train with EQUITEST® online. You don’t have to have a school! ​ It’s not just about who’s got a ‘dressage’ horse, it’s about the rider who can ride with the most effectiveness with a correct position, influence and training. ​ We are different. HOW DO I COMPETE? Competing with us is easy! Simply find your preferred category of class on our ENTER NOW page, make sure you're happy with your chosen class, add it to the basket and checkout. Ride your test, upload it to YouTube and send it to us via email (hello@equitest.co.uk)
HOW DO I UPLOAD MY VIDEO? Film your video from C. Introduce yourself and the test you are riding at the start. Ensure you are in landscape not portrait Upload it to YouTube (for how to do this, click the link in the next section) Send the link to hello@equitest.co.uk
WHAT ARE THE RULES? For RoR and VHS you will need your membership already with these partner organisations in order to compete. BD tack rules apply to all BD competitions, but not EQUITEST®. You must introduce yourself and state the test you are riding before starting your test otherwise a penalty of -2 will be incurred. For BD, videos must be filmed at C in a 20mx40m arena.
WHICH CLASS SHOULD I CHOOSE? This one is completely up to you and what category you want to compete in. RoR is only for RoR registered horses. VHS is only for VHS registered horses. BD does not require you to be a member of BD but you must comply with tack rules. EQUITEST® is a combination of free download sheets for our own competitions as well as printed and posted options. EQUITEST® aims to get you started on your dressage journey in a holistic manner.
DO YOU DO NEW CLASSES EVERY MONTH? We change the classes every month, so January might offer a test C but February will be different, for example. This helps us keep it fresh for our riders. We also launch new types of tests every month which are available as previews through our newsletter system
I'VE BOUGHT A TEST BUT I'D LIKE FEEDBACK, HOW DO I GET THIS? Buying a test product from us enables you to compete within the class you have purchased. You won't receive any feedback unless you buy one of our feedback products. We offer two feedback products; the Instant Feedback (£10) and the Riders Feedback sheet (£20). The Instant Feedback is a personalised video sent to you via WhatsApp from our judge Claire. She will give you advise and suggestions on how to improve your riding via video. Our Riders Training & Feedback Sheet is a document sent to you via email with a more thorough amount of information on it relating to your test.
